11/12 March: total 4 species 4, (Min 7.2C, Max 10.1C, medium- stars, bright moon, scant breeze). Despite a colder night, the frogs were still "at it". Whilst potting up some plants in the greenhouse mid-morning I disturbed a recently hatched Early Thorn, a month earlier than I have ever recorded one before.

8/9 March: total 2 species 2, (Min 4.1C, Max 5.2C, medium- stars, bright moon, calm). Shortly after celebrating his 70th wedding anniversary, my father-in-law has sadly died, aged 98 - hence no mothing. One of Monty's men and a veteran of the Normandy landings, he will be greatly missed by a large and loving family.
