31 January/1 February 2013: total 1, species 1 (Min 4.8C, Max 7.0C, medium- stars, breezy, wet by morning). After weeks of snow, rain and sub-zero night temperatures, this was the first realistic moment I had for running the trap, which was not actually turned on until not long before midnight. Then, to really rub salt into the wound, a spider trussed this moth up like a turkey!

7/8 January 2013: total 1, species 1 (Min 7.5C, Max 7.7C, zero stars, calm). Despite quite reasoble night temperatures and conditions, there were two blank nights, but this Chestnut is the earliest recorded by me.

4/5 January 2013: total 1, species 1 (Min 6.9C, Max 7.8C, zero stars, scant breeze). Will these blighters never learn! I have now discovered that they breed right throughout the year, each cycle lasting about 90 days.

Case-bearing Clothes Moth 0240 Tinea pellionella (1)

3/4 January 2013: total 1, species 1 (Min 8.0C, Max 9.4C, zero stars, slight breeze, mizzle). My first attempt for many weeks brought in just the one moth, but the first of the year. Let us all hope for a better mothing year in 2013.
